SEE YOU AT THE POLE
This is a yearly event that takes place all across America as students gather at 7 AM on Wednesday, September 26 at the flag pole of the respective schools to pray over one another, their teachers and faculty, and pleading for revival that can only come from the Holy Spirit.
More information will be coming about a county-wide rally we will be attending that Wednesday evening.
Wednesday Night Youth Meals!!
The youth will continue fellowshipping together after the first Wednesday of every month as we did all last year by attending a different restaurant to eat together. We usually finish up our Wednesday night worship services around 7:00 and will all ride over to the restaurant together. The students can be picked up at the restaurant after we eat. Please know that the entire family is invited to join us for dinner. While this is a youth event, everyone is welcome to eat. The more, the merrier!!!!!
September: El Norte on North Hills
October: Mugshots (This will be on the second Wednesday, the 14th, as Clint will be out of town on the 7th.)
November: Chic-Fil-A
December: McAllisters on North Hills
Just a Few of...
Summer has officially ended and it has certainly been a busy one within our student ministry. Over the last two + months we've gone to Camp in North Georgia, Super Summer at Mississippi College, gone Kayaking, seen the M-Braves play, gone swimming, eaten crawfish, spent many nights at Susanna and my house playing games and fellowshipping, as well as several other events and fellowships. I told someone the other day that last week was the first time since June I spent more than two days in the office. As much as I enjoy Summer, I'm excited about having a little normalcy and structure to our schedule.
As I type this on August 8th, we officially kick off our fall Wednesday night schedule tonight and our Sunday evening schedule in 4 days. This past Sunday was our promotion Sunday and we welcomed several new 7th graders to our Student Ministry here at Highland. As you've already seen above, we have several events planned over the next two months. Here is what our weekly schedule will look like for the fall:
Sunday Schedule
- Sunday School - 9:30 AM
- Worship - 10:45 AM
- Sunday Evening Bible Study - 5:00 PM
Wednesday Schedule
- Youth Room Open for Fellowship - 5:00 PM
- Wednesday Night Worship - 6:00 PM
- Youth Room Open for Fellowship - til 8:00 PM
I'm trying this newsletter as a new means of communicating with you all as parents and students. It will be emailed out as well as be available in hard copy form in the youth room and in the office. I can also mail out copies if that would be preferred. I appreciate any feedback not only about this new form of communication, but about all aspects of our student ministry. As parents, if you see something coming up that you'd like to be a part of and chaperone, PLEASE let me know. I am always looking for help.
I love you all and am grateful to serve alongside you for His glory.
In Christ,
Clint Jackson
